A small 5 year-old boy named Tom, who lives with his single mother, Jill, in New York, has to give up his favorite book; „The Giraffe That Knew Too Much“– because it got put on a list of censored books. Not understanding what is going on around him, Tom just wants to hold on to his favorite book, while his mother doesn’t want to upset the higher powers.

TRANS-MEDIA
Part of telling the story and to explain the universe that this takes place in, was to develop a full functioning book that the character Tom wants to preserve. After writing the story I collaborate with the Illustrator Pierce Hargan to develop a full version of the children’s book.
Not only was it possible to tell the story that the film carriers but it also works as a standalone piece or addition to continue the conversation in a different medium. It makes the films themes of living in a dystopian world accessible to children.
